Waiting As I wait for the sun to rise, The shadows hold me still, With nothing left behind the eyes, In offering of will. The desert reveals its secret, Watched from where the wind blows. And yet the stars will not frequent This dark no one else knows. And I will be waiting to hear From you as time escapes. It’s not the emptiness I fear, Nor the hunger it shapes. But where sweet Sorrow never sleeps, In heart that feels no sting. I know something far worse yet creeps Beneath this folded wing. Michael Anderson 4/19/21 |

Michael... You did very good on that challenge. I see you combined both phrases into one poem. I really liked the mystery of this piece. Thanks for sharing...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

sometime contemplation is not enough, we feel awkward , our thoughts are out of control, i felt sadness in the last stanza, yann |
