Dear fellow travelers,

As you may already know
Forgiveness,
Like grief,
Is a journey

But no one ever tells us
How the path is often fraught
With trials
And tribulations

Or that all along the way
You'll find remains
Of those never reached the other side

So I offer you no empty platitudes,
No moral truisms
Instead, simply say

Godspeed, my friend.

I think our capacity for wholeheartedness can never be greater than our willingness to be broken-hearted."  Brene Brown

Your poetry, as a statement, I'm somewhat in disagreement.
Your poetry as a poem, I thought was softly spoken, and eloquent.

I definately believe we should forgive, though some circumstances make it very difficult to do so. I have heard some say that unforgiveness is like a terrible disease that seems to only get worse if it isn't healed??

so true, it is such a downhill battle sometime, I can forgive a lot, but cannot forget...and with some people, you actually shouldn't.

Great write and there's always so much to consider but forgiveness is a virtue and the reason for it's need will fester inside if not addressed.
After all we're only human our fellow man can hurt us deeply but if we can clear it somehow we'll be happy and feel more fulfilled....
Enjoyed this...

I hear the wisdom in your words, I can relate to the process of forgiveness when the hurt is deep and debilitating and I appreciate the intent of Godspeed. ~L

Thank you all for reading and commenting.  And for trying to hear me, understand me and reach out to me in kindness.  I appreciate it all.
