I don’t care much for hair.
I’d rather not have to
blow dry it,
curl it
and spray it,
to keep it out of
my face.
I hate clips,
barrettes,
and bobby pins,
because they always
slide out.
But I have been doing all that
here lately.
Not my cup of tea.
So either I keep my hair
very short
or very long.
I think I’m growing it out again.
At least a little bit,
aiming for my shoulders
and not my waist.
So I got a perm.
A body wave,
so I wouldn’t have an afro.
I can’t wash it for three days
and it stinks.
But I like my new cap of curls
that I will be able to just wash,
spray on some product
finger comb and go.
Not too many years ago,
I would have hated it
because it made me
look like my mother.
I’m okay with that now,
my hair is not snow white.
Just a few strands of silver
in the front doesn’t bother me.
Though I must confess
I have considered going to
a brownier shade of brown.
But if I did, I would have roots
to fuss and worry about.
I don’t want that kind of commitment.
Right at this moment,
I have freshly permed bed head,
which is a sight to behold.
I have yet to subdue it with water,
spray, and perhaps a curling iron.
When I do, wish me luck.

I've always liked to doodle with hair styles and colors Like you I like to keep them simple ~ I'm sure yours came our nicely ~ Curling irons are magic so you'll look like da bomb

A few squirts of water and a couple of bobby pins and I was good to go. No worries. I love it when a plan works out. ~L

Easy is the way to go for sure. I don't know about 'da bomb' but I like my "old lady do"

I finally get to wash my hair in the morning!
They told me to wait 3 days...Can't wait to fiddle with it wet. I'm liking it pulled back from my face as opposed to whacking it off.
A bluesy pin?? Now you're just being plain silly. I like that. ~L
