Seemingly unplanned, I steep myself in conversation,
adding my ‘flavors’, trying to find ways to smooth it over

Your quietness is a ‘tone’ I’m accustomed to when you’re clinging to me,
blaming it all on my blue eyes, telling me I’d be better off with raspberries...hmm

I watch as you swirl through your cappuccino, trying to decipher my character today
and why it doesn't match who I was last Thursday when we stopped for lunch at the same old place

Being much too kind, you overlooked my awkward attraction by covering my blatant come-on with a spoon
You let me down so easy, baby, I totally forgot where I was going with you

I wonder if you noticed how my fingers twitched while smashing the blue patterned china
The harder I stomped on the fragments the more I’d splash boiling water everywhere

I just wanted you to hear me out right there in that ridiculously decorated café
under those softly set lights which created a mood I just couldn’t get into

Blusey! Your title had me chuckling from the get go. Then your poem raised my eyebrows about your "interesting" behavior, you cup crusher you. I loved your last line.
