Don’t judge by the book sales, but consider only the power of poetry
Verse floods the earth with all too many details...like a complicated code
Prose is poured ‘til the reader's calloused eyes can take no more
Sometimes, we set our words to music
Sometimes, we measure our words out on teaspoons
Sometimes, we compromise and whittle them into haiku

As our readers search our poems for hidden meanings
they may find the ground of our garden is poorly sown,
the grave topsoil yielding nothing new or different
The dramatic crypts and infectiously constructed stanzas
don’t do justice to the poet’s headstone inscriptions anymore
So my friends, do not be one to judge by the book sales,
only the power of poetry that rests within

This brings to mind something like quality...Not quantity...I like the message in this Bluesy ~ No truer words were ever spoken   Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Thanks, Miss Pinky. I took a slightly different take on the old saying; "Don't judge a book by its cover".

Thanks again!
