his eyes burnt from the sun
Desperado tasted cool water on parched lips
          a voice from faraway
          I am here
a heavenly voice
soft hands on his nakedness
          pulling, tugging his hands
you must help me if you are to live
Desperado blinked, blinked again
she dropped water into his eyes
          it blurred everything
but he could see, he wasn't blind
as she tugged and pulled Desperado
enraptured by his midnight-black hair
          plastered down onto his face
he tried to help her with her task
soon was sitting where he'd lain
"I'm not worth the effort, Mam, go away."
          My name is Faith,
I found you and now you're mine
