A Thought on Destiny

Would tonight somehow bring me ease,
Had I never touched her soft skin?
Or would my heart still feel this squeeze?
The price received letting her in.

Would light still seem to sap my will
Were I to step out of this dark?
Or could the X on my chest still
Once more present Gabriel’s mark?

Would reality then assert
All dream but chance, all chance, a lie.?
Or this nightmare my just dessert?
Dewinged, fallen, and left to die.

I managed to wade my way through
The layers in her seas of sin.
Past claim on soul, to shores anew,
But where to step?  Where to begin?

Who am I to boldly profess
That I could walk away from this?
So purely soaked in the duress
She slipped ‘neath the skin with a kiss.

Michael...This touches my heart deeply. To give birth over and over every night to such a terrible nightmare must be hell. I hope the future brings relief and a happy ending.

Take care my friend...Paul

A heart of dreams still beats within the pain filled words that I feel...weaving and weaving and hoping and hoping are still there...well written

Oh..Michael that last stanza just knocked
me for a loop. For lack of a better way to
describe this work..it was an 'all in' kind
of write I found very moving.

Paul, I don’t know if I believer in happy endings, but I do know the ending will bring happiness, if that makes sense at all.  Will endeavor to write something non bleak this weekend, or maybe a lil less bleak if that fails.     I think I abuse the dark side of my pen too much.

Karen, if it were for dreaming, we wouldn’t feel at all would we?  At least not enough to have to pick up the pen.  It’s what marks us as poets.

We all aspire to dreams, yann, and many of our dreams are destined to fall short of intended hopes.  We then have the choice of what to do with them.  Some of us makes them stepping stones and move on to the next dream.  Some withdraw completely.  then some of us never move again but sit and focus on one particular aspect of life that didn't go our way and make it responsible for nothing in life ever going our way again.  Nightmares, are manifestations of our own mind, truly...and we create our own monsters without realizing it.  Just thoughts to ponder.     Thank you for your kind words.

Skye~, there was much beneath the surface to this that probably added to that “all-in” feeling.  A weighing of the soul of sorts.  Glad you noticed   .

I have the strangest thought that your soul needs a soothing massage. This definitely draws a huge sigh from me.
This is my favorite :

"I managed to wade my way through
The layers in her seas of sin.
Past claim on soul, to shores anew,
But where to step?  Where to begin?"

"How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything"

A soul massage?  Think the need for such is pressing and dire at this juncture, Jenn.  Be careful though, it's dark in there.
