Wrinkled and old
she turns to God,
to offer at last,
her worn-out soul.
As her own past deeds
fade in her mind,
she is quick
to judge others
and is not always kind.
She has found her truth
but the devil and I
remember her youth...
and we smile.

AHHH I too remember my youth and smile...I don't want to relive it for the lessons I learned...as I age I seem to be gentler with people...living in assisted living for my husband has given me a much greater appreciation for people who work so hard to care for our needs...we look for ways to thank by getting chocolates for everyone and other treats...amazon delivers so we can express gratitude....you words are few but the meaning is deep and important...we do not need to forget our past just forgive ourselves and move forward becoming better as we go...thank you for sharing your talent

haha...love that ending.  made me smile as well.

It takes our past for us to find our way to our truths I think.  I try to be kind cause I realize every one of us has our own separate truths in this same regard.  Some people make this difficult though.

Yes. The most annoying kind of saved person. I think their judgement has less to do with others and more with their own fear of temptation to be inspired to fall back into old ways. Enjoyed this one. It makes me nod.
