Composition of Bone Palms to the ivory, fingers light, And yet he doesn’t strike a tone. Perfect décor, setting just right For this composition of bone. The nearby angels, having fled, An eerie essence settles in. Resonant pain of dreams long dead, And one unforgiveable sin. Why encroach on the pulse of life, When song ever remains the same? With echoes gone—with sirens rife, Silence bespeaking only shame. Knuckles cobwebbed, the digits float, One just above the untouched key. Hope, with sound, ebbed to a dry note— Flesh forsaking humanity. Silent Hall, a miscreant’s weep. Shadows shutter its lone reward. In dance with the brother of sleep, It’s here he finds his just accord. What mind carries body betrays. What Hope would build, Fate yet destroys. As Time tarries, as Death delays The true fulfillment of our joys. The chord near struck, a hanging jaw. A tilt of skull in vapid stare. The devil’s luck spoon feeds the maw Of emptiness lingering there. A stricken melody harkened, Grave-robbing index bled till dry. So fades the spell of this darkened Testament to a vacant eye. I felt the 'unforgivable sin' was key here, that lingers.. as the rest builds in a most intriguing way. Sky~ Sometimes..Miracles are just good people |

Powerful...powerful poem from the soul...Fate is what we make it...hope is a living thing that only needs to be fed to burn bright...live does not defeat us...we are equipped to defeat it...very well written |

Michael...I really loved the vivid images you painted with your words in this masterpiece. The maestro plays to a sold out crowd Not a key echoes a sound The audience sits in silence As the curtain comes down ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Thank you, yann. This is one of the few poems where the title came to me first and inspired the writing. When I heard the phrase "bone composition" in conversation the other day , I immediately in my head saw a skeleton setting at a piano...and imagined he died there while playing but because he lived alone, was never discovered. This was the result. I'm glad you enjoyed. Michael |

Skye, indeed...that is a key part to the story. We preach forgiveness a lot in this world, but even if we've given it and/or received it, many of us never learn how to forgive ourselves, or would if they could. Michael |

This wasn't the image I had in my head. ![]() It's much much better. I'd love to see this scene painted and framed. I can already see all of it. Well done by the master. ![]() "How much is real? So much to question |

Glad to see you here Jenn, was starting to think maybe the skellie in my closet scared you away or something. Seriously, we've missed you here. Glad you are posting again. ![]() Michael |
