Cancer 004 (Hard Love) Oh My God – the Pain! A new shot, one in each cheek, both at the same time! Railroad spikes with a center channel for fluid to flow – oh the hurt, the hurt, as I waited for them to finish. I had waited a month to get this new shot which was the next step in my treatment. I’m a wimp, no doubt about it, and the above thought was the only thing on my mind when I stood before the two nurses each I’m sure, but was afraid to look and see, sneering monstrously, Turned out the needles were for Darning, not for holding railroad ties. And the pain, well . . . not as bad as anticipated, but three days later I was still leaking water from the corner of my right eye, caused I believe, by the golf ball in my right ‘cheek’. Nothing like your bootie yelling at you every time you try to use your leg, and you’d really be surprised how often that is. My wife, pragmatically, tried to convince me the tears were from over use of the pepper shaker – not the pain in my uh-huh! That’s truly Hard Love, isn’t it? ~~~ © wesley james beard, jr. july 27, 2020 |

Jimmy...Like you I hate needles. Just breading this made me cringe. I wish you all the best my friend. Stay strong...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Needles and shots are bad enough as it is. It's unforgivable to have to have one there! I know this personally. Two of them though? Are you sleeping standing up? Michael |

Is Hard Love the same as Tough Love? Well done here, Sir... -- That which gives light must endure burning. |
