Saturday Rain~

Lost in rain
chasing the downspout,
spilling the ground,
saturated thoughts
of sadness, and questions.

I watch all the hungry little mouths
gulping their life support,
landscape growing lush before my eyes,
surrounded by deepening green,
yet Caught in muddy sludge
of a world gone MAD.

I linger in the window-sill..
inhale fresh wet air,
think of that favorite saying between us,
"This Too Shall Pass".
If only all could be cleansed by rain..
renewal, that simply.

Heavy raindrops splash against screen,
one finds my cheek,
and I leave it there,
it's better than a tear..

Good to see you here, Sky.  you've been missed.

"If only all could be cleansed by rain.."

This line struck me.  What I always loved about the rain was the feeling that it did cleanse...not just physically but mentally.  As if I could see clearer after a rain.  The harder the storm...the cleaner it felt coming out of it.

There's something in the air  today that seems to have a precious June rain only adding to the dreariness of the world.  As if it us who are being washed away with the cleanse and spiraling down the drain.

"This too shall pass"

Keep your eyes up...it will.

*sigh*
Your imagery here is amazing, and those last two lines just like an exhale. I don't even know if this comment makes sense. My words don't feel like enough. Loved it as you can see.

Sky...Very soothing thoughts within your words. The rain can mean so much to different people. I am like Michael, I feel the rain cleanses our mind, soul and thoughts
and leaves me with a feeling of starting over. Enjoyed very much...Paul
