Resurrecting Memories (Long Thought Dead) Pictures thought long gone surfaced the other day, resurrecting memories that should have stayed dead. Pictures that put unnecessary strain on a heart long since quietly settled and in love with Love sitting in her chair in the other room. blissfully unaware of the turmoil a couple of pictures have caused. I lay them down, shuffle though the drawer and smilingly pick up another . . . we both have our memories I see, and neither of us is unaware. I gently tuck her memory back where I found it, softly shut the drawer and am elated to know that tremor I feel isn't for a picture I thought long gone, but for Love, sitting just beyond the bedroom door. © wesley james beard, jr. |

"...Just beyond the bedroom door." I love this. Its always good to know where "home" is if you catch my meaning. I have tucked away memories and forgotten that they were even there. I hope I've read this correctly. ![]()

Seems to me you've read it just as I wrote it, my friend. I appreciate you . . . j. |

There aren't words for how much I love this. If I wake up on this side of the dirt, I call it a good day. |

Wow, James, this is powerful. We all have our memories, and things that are or were special to us at some point in time. They don't just disappear, but are sorted placed in their appropriate places. many rarely, if ever brought out again...but we all still have them filed away somewhere. It's your reaction that is priceless. The smile, and the contentment in stumbling upon this, knowing what you have...and that you are more than a photograph in a drawer. Very touching moment, thank you for sharing. Michael |

Jimmy, You are undoubtedly the master craftsman when it comes to rendering these works in love. You are a blessed man to know your subject so well. ~L |
