Remembering My Friend I lost a dear friend today. One whom traveled all the roads of life with me: One who never argued, complained, just silently stayed with me when I waded in swamp water to my hips, Went to church, bars, worked in my yard, cut trees, cut grass when it was wet with rain or dew, and was there, close by, when I got married, and was always there through hard times, good times, the times when I needed to be alone, but know there was always a friend close by that would be with me no matter what far-flung whim I needed to follow. And the death of the sole of my favorite boots will affect me forever. . . . ©wesley james beard, jr. |

I love it! Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy! Keep us guessing, assuming, lead by the nose right into the heart and sole of the poem. You are so good, my friend! ~L |

omg, you got me good with this one. Thanks for the much needed laugh. Losing a good pair of boots is something you truly never get over, that's for sure. |
