If we were friends on Face Book, I think that you would find the things I share and say are rarely the controversial kind. It will come as no surprise to you to find a poem or two. I’m a sucker for puppies, kittens, dogs and cats, cool art, inventions, all kinds of humor and things like that. I love the punny signs that people write. The cornier they are, the greater my delight. I try to be funny, where appropriate, in my replies and not say things considered harmful in anyone’s eyes. I rarely pass along things political, even if I agree. Just giving a thumbs up is good enough for me. I just scroll on by the stuff of opposing view, I’m not one to stop and argue. I’m very much into politics, I cannot lie. It is hard to try and let it all pass by. But I do because I’m in a state of red, going purple, if the truth be said. I’m not one for dirty laundry and drama and still seeing them bad-mouthing Obama. I’m not one for adding fuel to fires or starting a debate. I champion the causes that are working to end hate. Please excuse my somewhat inappropriate off the wall humor, I can’t promise I won’t say something like that anymore. I just want my friends to laugh, wonder, ooh and awe, to be happy to see me and see what they saw. I will confess my friends are not many, not that it is a lack of request, I do not collect friends like badges, I don’t think a whole lot is best. But that is just me, I’m really quite shy, I hate rejection, I cannot lie. LGR(C)02/02/2020 |

“I do not collect friends like badges” I like that. In a handful of months it’ll mark two years since I quit Facebook. I didn’t use it much, I kept getting friend requests from friends of relatives I’ve never met, and a few of my relatives on there were Trump supporters and anyway every time I heard (and continue to hear today) something about Facebook in the news, it was all bad. My main reasons for leaving it behind. I don’t miss it. But I’m really glad you get something out of it. IF I was still on there I’d friend request you in a minute. Really good write. |
