Far Across the Deep Blue Waters I was only checking her out as she sat on the good side of the café, for some reason the food looked better over there, even the women seemed to be more fair; on that particular moment she started staring at me not that it made me feel uncomfortable, it was as pleasing as could be, and now she was beckoning with her finger and playing with her short skirt with others, I was definitely paying attention and attention was doing its work; this café was only a short ways away from the dance club named Atlantic and right about now, I was feeling kind of romantic so I jumped up sensing an opportunity and slid into her booth hoping she was digging me, I helped her finish off her ham sandwich then we headed for Club Atlantic, she said she danced there every Saturday night and we shared many a dance that night; I walked her home later that night, she lived far away on a dark country road, I kissed her once, I kissed her twice, until her mother opened the front door and said "one last kiss" to say goodnite. JamesLee 4/10/17 Fraulein Far across the deep blue waters lived an old German's daughter on the banks of the old river Rhein, where I found her and left her but I can't forget her, she was my pretty Fraulein |

I like the romance in your poem JM. The clarity of your reminisce means one of two things to me. One, this occurred yesterday or two, it happened many years ago and she meant something more than the average 'fling' or 'one-nite stand'. Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here... |
