All Hallows Eve The dark pressing in on all sides, Where deathless agony resides. A shadow steps forth, steeped in need, To write name in forsaken deed. The realm of days bitterly passed— Firmament permanently cast; I lift up my scarred eyes to share Wholly unforgotten despair. Where once I waivered, now I stand; My Book of the Damned well in hand. Where once I faltered, now shoot straight With no life left to contemplate. Where once I rushed in, take my time. Impatience after all, a crime; And gift forth a soul rattling growl— Lift to the moon a longing howl. The tethers of preordained fate, The scars of seeing them too late But reminders of where I’ve been— Will never ever stand again! In blackness now become my bliss, In soul offered to the abyss— All my failures of faith and feat. I ask you now, friend, trick or treat? Michael Anderson 10/12/2019 |

This was a dark treat! Like dark chocolate, only without the calories! Your ending is perfection. ~L |

I like the dark edge to this one. I'm glad I wandered back to look at the site after all these years. I would have missed this otherwise. |
