I thought I’d lost my wanderlust Many years ago. Now in the twilight of my life- I know that isn’t so. I’d like to pack a suitcase- And hit the road again- Go and see new scenery, And places I have been. I think things would be different- Viewed by my older eyes. I doubt I’m any smarter… Perhaps a bit more wise… I’d stop and smell the roses- And rest within the shade… And let my thoughts go wander- For that’s how dreams are made. I’d like to leave the clutter, That’s accumulated here… If I could only close my eyes- And make it disappear… And wake up in my twenties- Without a tie to bind. I’d drift and dream again, friend- And see what I could find. [This message has been edited by Gunslinger (10-18-2019 07:11 AM).] |

A wondering, longing, wanderlust dream birthing a hauntingly beautiful poem, John. If only we could have the wisdom of age and the experiences we have gathered along the way, at the time of our youth. I love the road your thoughts took you. ![]() |

John, Great idea! It is good for the mind and soul to revisit touchstones. It lets us reconnect with who we are, opposed to who we have become. You are a traveler at heart and blessed be your journey. ~L |

Oh yeah. Without the baggage, but knowing what I know. |
