Innocent Lives Lost By Paul Wilson 7-28-2019 Three killed in California Innocent children among the dead Families enjoying the day at a local food fair Some enjoying garlic bread Thoughtless killings we hear about each day Innocent lives taken with no warning No distinction between their victims Family and friends begin mourning The reason why will never be known Police tried to take him alive but he said no The killer took his own life His reason we will never know 7-30-2019 Two more shot down today in Mississippi In the prime of their lives Getting fired his reason Changing forever lives of children and wives The pain and sadness of those left behind Has just begun as storm clouds gather overhead Friends and kinfolk gather in the wake of This tragedy…to mourn the dead When will this craziness end How many more innocent lives must be lost We hate violence but it consumes us each day Headlines written in blood red families pay the cost Saturday 8-3-2019 Bad news again today in Texas just read At least twenty more dead Senseless violence killers reason was hatred countless injured have a long road ahead Sunday 8-4-2019 Nine killed in Ohio the reason not known shooter gunned down by police Before he could end more innocent lives The reaper takes his toll when will killings cease More innocent lives lost today While having a good time With family, friends and loved ones Never again will they celebrate Christmas time 7-29-2019 thru 8-4-2019 This week has been a nightmare No rhyme or reason for these lives taken Thirty five innocent lives gone forever Countless hearts of love ones breaking What a way to begin this day of worship Sunday Afraid to read the news today Afraid it might include our family or friends Together we join hands and pray ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

"When will this craziness end" I always believed it would get worse before it got better, starting with Columbine. I wish to God I was wrong on that assessment. Not sure where it ends, but something has to change! |
