There is a truth
at the nucleus of things,
not yours,
not mine,
not others’,
but a naked truth,
in its natural
raw beauty
and
objective cruelty,
defying attempts
at manipulation
but only
the seeing,
the hearing,
the pondering,
the analytical,
the brave
who withstand the attempted torture
of the quadruplicitous,
see
it,
and it is they
who can stand up straight
and lift their heads and eyes
to greet the sky.
