If somehow I could see
some possibility
that you and I together
could at last be free

We’d hover light as any feather
no matter whether or not
families redound
or try to sever the tether
by which we two are bound

Families are very, very good at severing the tether in most cases I have found out.

If anybody has got a problem with you two being together now, after all these years of dedication, love and support that has been good for you both. Then that's their problem.
