I have two that are getting up in years, but they're big dogs and haven't had any problems thus far.
All owners bond with their pets, but even more so when it's just yourself and them.

I'm sorry you lost your friend and companion, Jerry. I hope you decide to find another.

Thanks Blusey. I have had dogs all my life except for the wild times in the sixties. I lean on getting another one.

My heart goes out to you Jerry, I know she meant the world to you. If you do get another
one be sure to make plans if it out lives you.
I'm glad we were able to adopt our old Winston. I can't bear to think of losing him and we haven't been together near as long as you and Zoe were. So sorry for your loss my friend. ~L

Hope you can hold on to Winston as you want to. Going to hit the sack early. Goodnight, my friend

WHAT???  I didn't know - I picked it up from what BlueSocrateaser said in the poem at the top of the list at the moment!  I went scrambling for Zoe in a Search.  I was hoping he had made a mistake.  I am devastated!  The tears are catapulting down my cheeks.  I AM SO SORRY!  I see it was March of last year from this one.  You have my gut-scraped sobbing empathy!  I can't imagine you without Zoe.  I saw a couple more Zoe poems in the Date sequenced Search.  I can't bring myself to read them yet, but I will tomorrow or in a few days' time.  Rest in Peace, beloved, darling, beautiful, cuddly, adorable, clever, faithful Zoe!  I AM SO SORRY, Jerry.  I know that doesn't help.

Thank you, Jerry.  I am glad it helped.  I can't face the other Zoe poems yet.  I thought I could and came in to read them and your reply to this, but the tears are flowing too fast again and my insides and emotions are all twisted and tangled.  I don't know how you are managing.  I AM SO SORRY.  I will read the others, but not right now.
