Rita, sat in all her elegance, drawing lipstick thick on her sad smile
Soon, she linked arms with a man who had tassels on his shoes
They drank sugar coated coffee while listening to the blues
...what a silly thing to do

The man with the tassels on his shoes quickly kissed Rita, who loved the blues
Then, wiping lipstick from his face, he pulled away from their quick embrace
The tragic, broken romance was on the early news; His mother had warned him about “the type”
Her daddy then held her while she cried, and after a while everything was fine...just fine

But the coffee was left feeling alone, and so sought comfort in the sugar
The dappers’ were tapped out leaving the singers singing their songs to empty chairs
And all the while Rita sat in daddy’s arms, trying not to cry, because, she thought...
“It’s such a silly thing to care….” and sheathed her bluesy-stained stiletto

Did you ever stop to consider the type of woman that wears stilettos? They wear shoes that do unnatural things to their feet and back just to look sexy. I would take stilettos as a red flag and be wary of any woman willing to wear torture chambers on her feet. ~L

But those stiletto's do indeed give a woman a very sexy look about her. Sex! Who needs it? Everybody . . .

"Did you ever stop to consider the type of woman that wears stilettos?"

Did you ever stop to consider that it's not a "shoe" she sheathed? It was a 'stiletto' not a 'pair of stilettos'.

Poor spurned Rita. Following in the footsteps of Miss Otis and Frankie...only with less noise.
