With her blinds at half mast, early morning casts a new light across the night-time gloom of her room Despite a drowsy fight, her empty gaze is stolen by the sight of sunlight softly stroking chimney stacks Cold air seeps through the cracks of the inched open window dancing up her goose-bumped arms Propping her pillow behind her, her hands warmed by her steaming coffee mug, her slow, sleepy fog begins to slide away A happy birdsong melody trips through the bass-line of traffic, making fine morning music The sky slipping now from blue to gray, the day mood-swings its way towards a gentle rain, dripping diamonds on her window pane ...just bein' Bluesy |
