ALL THIS 27 March 2014 Wispy cloud messages gliding in snail-time across a spirit-blue sky; air clean-sweet and flower-fresh; slow-beat African monarch wings glinting in the bountiful sunlight; soft buzz of crickets accompanying a duet of black-collared barbets; verdant leaves fluttering in a frolicking breeze; distant barks of canine chatter not required to be passed on; annoying fly to enhance the rest joining in the praise of day; neighbour singing growly bass not loud enough – must strain my ears to hear; sunshine-shadow colours of my dog and cat against glory-green of grass; all the tranquillity of these rich gifts waft away my worldly woes and I embrace without restraint the serenity that embraces me. What joy, what perfect bliss is this! Look-see, listen-hear; inhale-taste-savour; touch your world with child’s delight. You have it too . . . and its yours for the taking. Owl |

"touch your world with child’s delight" fine advice indeed! grand imagery ... superb impressionistic tribute to lovely moments of the 'now' ... The 'past' is irrevocable. The 'future' powerless as yet to be born. We have only the scintillating 'now' of infinite potential with which to paint the world in bright-delicious colors and to cherish Gaia's gifts. |

Hi, this is so important to refer to child's delight, and snail time, i have the sensation that this poem enlight my soul, and raise our thoughts for the "essential", thanks owl |

Thank you, Yann, for your delightful reply. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it so much. I enjoyed your 'Le Petit Prince' et son ami, le renard, reference. Owl |

A beautiful post today Diana.I love the way you delve deeply into the life around you. Yesterday I saw my neighbor's yard was in deep need of a mowing. Each day it has become more and more over grown with weeds. Someone bought the house but has not moved in nor come by to check it out. It was showing some beautiful weeds with flowers. I love weeds and often over the years picked them and either planted them in my yard or put them into a vase. These were tall and had tiny seed like flowers in a peachy/orange color.I pulled up the whole clump and cut the roots off and put them in a vase of water and have them in my hallway. Love to you, one who will understand why I like weeds. Jo |

Thank you for your kind words, Martyjo. Whilst I don't understand, either, about actually planting weeds, I do understand about putting them in a vase if they are pretty (especially as you pulled up the roots and cut them off), so somebody understands halfway, lol, Martyjo! Owl |

The childhood delight is the greatest gift of all, if only more could notice what may lay dormant in them, what a world we could make |

Diana, I guess we should just call them Wild Flowers. So many over dexto them to rid the lawn but I like any thing that flowers.Weeds are really wild flowers that prefer to stray and not stay in a neat little boxed in area. Love to you, jo |

Martyjo 'weeds' means 'unwanted plants' and whether they are good or bad depends on the reason why they are unwanted. Being very ecologically-minded, if they are unwanted indigenous plants, in my book, they are wild flowers and not weeds. If they are alien plants, especially if they are invasive aliens, then I don't want them and I pull them up. I have a lot of indigenous plants that are self-grown in my forest, but I never ever thought of them as weeds, because they are, indeed, wanted. Owl |
