It begins with the turning of a key
Barreled springs torque up and come to life,
demanding loyalty from the
gears and levers above them

The pendulum is set in motion
moving in a seeming perpetual arc
it's steady beat
whittling away at our lives

Measuring the rhythm of our hearts
and the expansion of our lungs
Chiseling fragments of time
and the moments we share together

These precious hours we spend
in sweet embraces
only to surrender to its beckoning call
at the setting of the sun

What then, my love
if we threw away the key?
What then my love
would become of you and me?

Ahhh . . . Throw that key away . . . (Psst! Just make sure you know where you threw it!)

I wouldn't even have a clock if I didn't need one! Good poem though Blusey!

I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not like the passengers screaming in the back of his car.
