Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2016-07-30 06:54 PM

I am regularly medicated
to stabilize depression
and anxiety’s effects.
But, lately I must confess
It seems as if
I’ve been taking placebos
Makes me stop
and wonder
what about
without.
How horribly nuts
is au natural?
Just what condition
is my condition
really in?
Do I have a natural high?
My luck,
it is manic.
Would the lows
make this intolerable gray
seem bright as a summer day?
Would my anxiety
get me a jacket
with buckles in back?
Sometimes on crazy grayzy days
I think the medication
is the proof I use
to convince myself
I’m not really falling apart.
It just feels that way
for a while.

To understand is more than empathy can provide.  x  I've now read the other replies, and I know. My son is bipolar and my wife suffers acute anxiety. I try as hard as a man can to help them, but it is so personal....it eats me up. x

Bless your heart Redstart, I know you have a difficult road loving people with mental illness. It is hard for you, I know my husband feels helpless at times. He has come a long way to realizing it has nothing to do with him. ~L

We are a work in progress, in some form or another.  I love how you write and express yourself Lori.
