This will be the last of the poems on the subject . . .

I’m not fearful
whatever the cosmos has
given me to deal with . . .
I’ve dealt with it
everything is transitory anyway
have to say this
finally tracked my real mother down
Mary Turnage
the father?
who the hell knows
seems I inherited his will-o-wisp lifestyle
my father . . . distant thunder
elusive
never able to touch or feel
just from absent(like me) parents travels on
my mother  . . .
Mary Turnage
in the family way hitchhiking
outta Shreveport, LA
(so I was told)
I think it’s a lie . . . a lie among many lies
there is a Mary Turnage
on Facebook
I sent a friends request . . . twice
I was ignored
wonder if it was because I told her
I thought her grandmother, or mother
gave birth to me?
don’t know
she refused to give me the time of day
eh . . .
matters not
I console myself
down here in the swamps of Louisiana
with its mushroom-like moon
cypress stumps and critters . . .
some mean and evil
ahhh . . . I am over all that now
the wondering . . . I’m here . . . I’m who I am
this Louisiana swamp comforts me
protects me even I believe
this is a rainy location
I feel security from the rains presence
this is the best place I’ve ever lived
in a strange way
it takes the place of my absent parents
ah, don’t really
expect people to understand that
matters not
I’m finally where I need
and want to be
a large white candle will be lit
after I’m done with this poem
it is for me
it is for those I have touched in my life

Hi there, I'm sorry your maternal mother walked ahead, but yanno, maybe she did you a much bigger favor then you realize...

something to think about, hope this helps...

when I was little had a cousin who felt so badly for me, b/c I didn't have a father...he told me so, once when we were fishing...I assured him, please don't feel badly, b/c you cannot miss what you've never known....and it's true...I had so so many great positive influences in my life, that it really didn't matter to me.   Hope this helps you some....

Hugs

To me my friend Jerry, it's not as much who loved you, but rather who you love that matters. It can keep you from perpetuating something you never had and leaving a vacuum where there should be an air of love with all its flora and scents. You're a strong man Jerry with a gifted pen, which means you have a lot of heart. Stay strong and leave with a smile so wide your teeth fall out.

Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

Thanks much, JL. I think I have finally buried what I have been carrying around since I was sixteen years old..

Bravo to you and your candle, you have come a long way to light it. Your journey has never been easy, but had it been, you'd not had anything to move you to write for all these many wonderful years. You have managed to make an amazing amount of lemonade from your life's lemons. Write on! ~L

Sorry I missed you yesterday, Ari . . . I've been having some trouble with AT@T . . . A lot of trouble actually, and haven't been able to think straight. Thank you for your wonderful comments.
