Joy's done it again, that crude mademoiselle, It was silent but deadly and boy does it smell. She's stunk out the wings , the performance is done, With instruments flying the orchestra's gone. Please God let it end, don't waft it this way! Poor Degas just fainted and so has Monet! How can a stench, with so little fanfare, Emanate from such a cute derriere? The moral is clear and simple to master, You're only one Trump from a total disaster. |

I’ve tried to follow the American election but I admit to being completely bewildered. Franchise after all its based on a pretty simple operation. In our elections every abode is on the electoral roll and all that live there, over eighteen, are entitled to vote. Provision of postal votes is made for the armed services and for others, no one is excluded. A letter, prior to Election Day, is sent notifying everyone of their polling station which is often just a short walk away. The whole affair takes a few minutes to complete. I am told some Americans wait for over four hours in line to vote and then are turned away. From an outsiders view it’s as if individual States invent hurdles to actually prevent people from exercising their rights as citizens to vote for their chosen choice. Lastly, why on earth do you have to inform anyone of which party you are going to vote for? Surely that’s against the principle of the free vote. Sorry America, but it seems to us that there’s a smell of rigging going on with the whole process. Perhaps someone will enlighten me because at the moment I’m confused. Cari. |
