I called God on the private number
I keep in my desk drawer
Kermit the Frog came on the line
"God is busy doing God things,
call another time."

Hah! I didn't believe him
never did like that goggle-eyed freak
I took another hit of Trazodone
leaned back in my chair
waiting for the magic

Don't know how long I was out
woke up with the phone ringing loud
like St. Mary's, Virgin Cathedral bells
thinking God was calling me back
I let the damn thing ring

I smiled
knowing how upset God would be
I was happy
and just think I used to wake up ill-tempered
with a boner that was killing me

Laughed my XXXX of mate but be careful. I hear Louisiana is strong on religion and also share a direct line with god, whose known to be a dab hand at hurling thunderbolts, so don’t venture out in a storm for a couple of months.

Yeah you're right Cari, Louisiana is strong on religion, but down heah in the southern, swampy part of Louisiana it is also strong on voodoo, don't ya know. Thank you for checking my poem out.
