When the verdict was handed down
They said justice had won ...

But although the city is swathed in red
There are still 96 dead;

And until they apportion the blame
On those who caused your pain,

There is still much more to be done ....

You can say that again. Soon, there may be community armories and we'll all live in bunkers.

More feelings and fewer words please

Well done, it certainly needed to be said. What the Sun newspaper printed in the days after the awful loss of life was little short of criminal. Their belated apology years after had more to do with protecting their sales than a genuine expression of regret. 27 years after, the repeat apology has much the same intention.

The people of Liverpool have ‘Walked alone’ for far too long but no more and as a Londoner, I give them my admiration and respect. The powers that be thought they could bury the tragedy under a wall of whitewash—They took on the wrong city.

Thank you Cari... the fact the head of the South Yorkshire police has been suspended on full pay pending the outcome leaves a bad taste in the mouth. He's also on "Garden Leave" which means his pension will continue to grow until he ultimately resigns as the token scapegoat and leaves with no criminal charges being brought and a boosted final salary pension. Justice ? Not what I'd call it

I don't know the case you are talking about here, effjayel but I do know justice is scarce these days. So glad to see you on the blue pages again.

Thank you for your comments and welcome March, it's good to be back. The case is the 96 Hillsborough football disaster victims. The 2 year inquest took place a few miles from where I came from and only 18 miles from Liverpool
