A Recipe for Love

A soft sprinkle of madness,
Hunter's moon, a lover's gun.
A lifetime pent in sadness,
Over things you've never done.
A flavorless ambition,
(Just a trifle... not too much);
Coming to its fruition
In form of a lifetime crutch.

You weigh the thises and thats,
Lick your fingers, breathe the smell;
As the aroma lingers
Down the corridors of hell.
Could be infatuation,
Might just be a subtle crave.
But you'll find no satiation
Feasting this side of the grave.

So you stir in desperation
Till body aches with the toil;
So staunch in dedication,
The emotion's brought to boil.
You lick the spoon, it scalds the tongue,
So then, just let it drop.
Splash out the sorrows never wrung,
To stains on countertop.

Just one item left to the scroll
To perfect your soufflé.
But once you've topped it with your soul,
You just watch it decay.
Hunger so strong, why is it you
Can't bring yourself to bite?
Turns out my friend, you know it's true,
Love's more than appetite.

Now that's good ol' homestyle cookin' Michael! Yum!

If I were more than I am, I'd see things differently instead of the same all the time.

An interesting poem Michael that refuses to let one go until the last word is savored. This line, I found most intriguing:
quote:
"Hunter's moon, a lover's gun"
Enjoyed the read.

More feelings and fewer words please

Wow, wow... and then again - WOW. Even the best of cooks have trouble with this recipe... and more than a few kitchens burn to the ground. Yet we keep trying, seeking the masterpiece even though we can barely stir for our burned and battered fingers. Excellent!
