a sign in the heavens I read as my own
believing all good works prevail
while my fruit bearing efforts fell short of the task
everyone knew I would fail

Stacy, the main thing is to keep trying. Especially when you're trying to do good things.
Besides, these everyone people don't always know everything....if that makes any sense??

Nice little melancholy piece here. I enjoyed the read.

Lots of power in such a short, simple set of lines. This is my favorite kind of writing. I think people underestimate the brilliance of how so much gets stuffed into a single breath.
