Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

What would I do without Balladeer?
Inspiring me to write poems -- right
His direction makes the process clear

It's his inspiration I hold dear
And drives me forward with pen held tight
What would I do without Balladeer?

I now write poems with joy, not fear
Often writing until dawn's first light
His direction makes the process clear

Breathing softly, with my mind in gear
Painting words on paper in the night
What would I do without Balladeer?

He's my mentor, his wish is sincere
A love of poetry that's out of sight
His direction makes the process clear

So take it from me -- and just adhere
Don't gnash your teeth. Don't put up a fight
His direction makes the process clear
What would I do without Balladeer?

With love to my friend,
Alison

...and what would I do without people like you, Alison....people who love the art of poetry and take the time an effort to work at their craft and continue improving every day? I admire you, girl. You don't settle for "almost right". You work at it and , when you say your poem is a specific structure, one can be sure that it is.

An excellent villanelle, my friend!

Thank you. I don't write much any longer, but that was fun. I might just have to try my hand at poetry once again. You truly inspire me.
