slow to anger yet
fierce in my rage
I stand certain
in crowds of doubt

feeling pangs of repression
while breathing sighs of relief
longings once fallen short
praise me in quieter moments

tears once spent for naught
reveal their timeless value
in birthing my hopes and dreams
in freshly tilled fields of deliverance

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

You out did yourself here in my book. your introspection is impressive. Very good for a silly person such as your self. I liked this very much!  ~L

First two lines set the poem up, and what comes after them is outstanding.
