sleight of hand
now you see it
now you don't
feeling is believing

the sun laced window
shears the light of the moon
placing it 'round your neck
like diamonds sparkling 'neath our kiss

translated ebbs with interpreted flows
creating soft winds
singing of lovers
of whom the night knows

let the night do its will
for the morning has no remorse
we alone within its sphere
and the magic that is ours to share

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

Absolutely compelling, Danny. Very nice job.

You do "romantic" well!

With the right music, and a short refrain between stanzas, Billie Holliday would have made this poem into a good song...

"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance."
Carl Sandburg
