New Years Resolutions & Me

I learned,
oh so many years ago,
that New Years Resolutions
were a waste of time -
but for one!

One that
has always worked
for me,
has never failed,
has given me pride
in myself
for never having
broken it.

A Resolution
so profound,
that by only not having
made it,
could it fail.


My Resolution:

I promise
to commit at least
one lie,
no matter how hard
that may be,
on the first day
of the New Year -
thereby assuring
the rest of the year
is all

uphill !
