it was in Big Bear country California rustic shack nice home really you liked to think we were roughing it I recall an undulating fog that late afternoon you giggled and took my hand cold that they were warmed them inside your blouse I can still hear your laugh and shudder reacting to my cold hands I'd just come in from getting firewood you were chopping onions threw them into a smoking cast-iron skillet I smothered you with my arms as you stirred the onions you backed into me turned off the fire under the skillet and as we cuddled we watched the sun setting blood-red on the horizon. ©December 22, 2015 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Good one Jerry. It is funny the things that stick out in your memory. You really seem to like things that stick out, especially on girls. ~L |

Good one Jerry - Been to Big Bear numerous times - got my first (only) "fishing ticket" in the middle of that lake back in the early '60s - Was there 2 years ago - Hasn't changed all that much from the '60s. j. |

That's good to know, Jimmy, that Big Bear hasn't gone through negative changes over the years. Yep, it is a special place. Appreciate you being in my world . . . ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

quote:I wasn't going to 'go there' with this clever, if not provocative reply of Miss Lori's JerryPat, so I won't. She's a trickstress and the Queen of Puns, no doubt! Dug your post on Big Bear. I was discharged in 1970 in Southern California and stayed until '73. Never made it up to Big Bear, but I recall some who hovered awhile there. Far more good times in California than I deserved. Great story of your life on the 'road'. Could it be that you have another 'trip' to take before the 'big one'? My wife and I never seem to stop for too long ourselves, though I'm beginning to feel 'rooted' here in Louisiana. Maybe there's more to this 'aging' thing than I realized. Hmmm. 88's pal, and have a super 2016! <-----<<< Can I take my hat off now? I feel silly! She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

No doubt Lori can get the job done, it seems, no matter what that job is. I was in California for the biggest part of the sixties. A wild time for me, Ticklefingers, and I am still amazed I made it out of there alive. Naw, I don't think I have it in me to hit the road again, man, I just sit back and try to live until "then." Oh hell yeah, this aging thing is something else. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
