Such a simple thing as music… like water to my desert of self-exile. My prodigal state of mind Rip Van Winkleing on me from time to time. What perfect storm of circumstances left me on the shores of the non-deserving? Such a simple thing as moving the music to… Turning it on and saying this my space too… And I felt the old rock and Roll fill me up and let me go. Just like it did when it was new and I was young and strong. And it didn’t take too long before I started to remember me again. Finding my Phoenix as I groove along. Such a simple thing as dancin’ in the kitchen savin’ my sanity again. Such a simple thing I’d mistaken again as unimportant and let slip away. LGR©12/21/15 |

"What perfect storm of circumstances left me on the shores of the non-deserving"? A question for the masses mon cher amie. Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me! |

Apparently I must not feel I'm deserving of the time it takes to figure out my radio in the car either... ~L |

"Finding my Phoenix as I groove along." Two excellent lines in context with the poem! ~ Do what you have to do to feel right, |

As I got older, I found others in my generation still wanted to hear the 'oldies', and for some, they just never let go as though it was the only thing keeping them alive. I like the oldies from time to time and I associate many memories with them, good and bad, but the best thing I like about them is that 'feel good' music and that's what I think the bottom line is for you Miss Lori. Listen to the ones that make you feel good and 'shake your booty'! 88's atcha ![]() She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

Now all you need is a partner. I’ll dance to any tune, avoiding your toes.--- shall we? |

Lori, even I at this advanced age still love Rock and roll. The twist and all of that. And later the other fast and moving music.I love a good drum beat also and when as I usually am alone, and the music blares, you will see my feet dancing to the beat.It might well be at the same time as you and we are dancing alone together, although far apart.Jo |

fine 'write!' ... "And it didn’t take too long before I started to remember me again." ... for those of us who have devolved, at best, into a bad parody of ourselves, remembering that 'me' again is a tough one! |

Thank you so much everybody for your time to read and comment here. I've heard it said often that little changes can make big differences. It is true. ~L |
