Resolve

Is this the day I do it?
This the day I walk away?
Question if I can hold to it
Or will resolve once again stray?

So determined to love me
Unseen as the cold wind moans.
But the chill to anonymity
Saps the marrow of my bones.

And it's New Year's already,
They pass so fast anymore.
This one I vow to steady
Ship, and bring this wreck ashore.

One set of footprints in the sand,
We both know whose they'll be.
My path to calm I understand
You cannot share with me.

I'll lift anchor before first step,
Wind guide you or take stern,
Won't condemn choice or pretend
That I do not share the burn.

But won't look back unto dark things
I know I must release.
Poetry my soul, till it again sings
My quest is one of peace.

Very good...I like the message...:-)

"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance."
