Palm Springs commercial photography

This is my world, the only world I know
I sleep and eat here, I sit on sidewalks
flecking stone pebbles my only marbles
scrawny cats, stray dogs keep me company.

In my world, the moment only matters
play hide and seek with other homeless kids
or even by myself, the bushes my
fort of defense against my faceless foes.

I did not sleep much last night, my father
failed to bring enough food to the table,
he left early today to look for work
I hope he earns enough from selling fish.

Mornings when I wake up my stomach hurts
but I hope for now It will be all right
there's the lady who often walks this way
she smiles kindly and brings me bread and milk.

I let her take my picture.

Heart alone is not enough to feed and comfort all people lacking so many things that most of us here in the United States have in relative abundance. It takes action. Any time you can do anything for anyone, you should.

Point in poetry. If you have fish to sell to buy food, eat some live caught fish first, then sell the surplus.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

Very reminiscent of life during the great depression but so easily transposed anywhere from then to now. Great read.
Thanks

The down and out need special attention. The crippled veterans need medical attention, some need a place to sleep. So many need assistance, isn't is strange Obama lets hard core Syrians into the country and turns his back on America's needy?

Politicians and the governments they represent are deserving of your criticism. But pause for a moment and think. If you rely on your president and those immediately below him to feed the needy, what are you doing about it? Paying taxes? Is that your excuse? Are you spearheading any efforts to relieve the problems the less fortunate than yourself have? Will you be standing on the tarmac or seaport turning people back who are frightened and weary? Or will you sit in your abodes, however humble they may be, and have no empathy for someone with nothing?

Yes, you've had it tough haven't you? You've suffered and lost and suffered some more. People didn't understand you, so you relish in your hymnals of hate and discontent. Well then, you should have a whole host of experiences to relate shouldn't you?

Forego the risks and help people who are in need as you can and drop the 'holier-than-thou attitude that many westerners have developed and make it personal.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!
