Leftover pie for breakfast

Love is chased by wind now,
Paths  home, parted, by windshield,
and carside;
Still chatter fills this mornings ears,
With sounds of ghostly tokens.

"Papa" a towhead speaks, I reach
But cannot touch him
My daughters son has a runny nose-
I bend to comfort,
But nothing wets the tissue.

The circle being broken:
Going on, means my only refuge,
Is leftover pie for breakfast.

...and sooner than hoped for, the pie too will be gone, for this too must pass.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

Thank you Jerry, and Mr. M.

My daughter came for Thanksgiving, with her 3 year old son...I am so sad when he leaves, but what is, is. I am still his grandpa- he calls me Papa.

I shall share this bittersweet situation at Xmas when my 18 month granddaughter comes to visit. I so empathize. ~L

It is my pleasure that you took time to read...
Distance means time unspent together..
so I spend the close time, close to him.
