if I had a nickel to spend, I think I'd place it in my pocket and keep it there warm and safe its not enough for everything but its more than I thought I'd have after all, a nickel is pure many of the things it could buy aren't a nickel, if cared for is pretty if it isn't, then it may not be a nickel has two sides each unlike the other one side for your sister and one for your brother it's fun to share a warm nickel I hope I get one soon She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

Waaay back in the day when I was first married we used to say we were so poor that if boat rides were a nickel, we could only run up and down the shore saying, "Ain't that cheap!" ~L |

Ahhh . . . Love this nonsensical bit of musing, Ticklefingers very much. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Very nice! In recent days - I don't know why - several one-cent pieces were picked up by me from the street, they shone like gold! It looks like people really don't care if they lose "a nickel". I always remember a quote I heard in my youth "Who does not appreciate the "little" isn't worthy of the "much" ... Even if you call this "The lighter side of life" the involvements are quite serious anyway, no doubt. Margherita |
