Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Less than a nightlight
it flickered
illuminating the hollow of darkness
with a weak awareness.
Steadily the light grew stronger.
The darkness sought safety
in corners preoccupied with gloom.
Brilliant now,
there lingered no safe haven
for idle thoughts.
No time to waste.
An idea radiates.
It writes a wrong notion
of nothingness.
It changes perspective
on where and what
to work upon.
Write away.
Muse sings.

Yes always keep a note book by the bed for those 4am epiphanies. Enjoyed.

L, Sometimes those ideas can shine like a beacon can't they..
Always great when that happens.

Enjoyed your Poem

Yes, like those perennial fish stories about 'the one that got away', that one great poem or metaphor that slipped away when we woke and got busy with life like Secretariat coming out of the gate at Churchill Downs.

I picked up a nice little Sony pocket-size recorder to keep at the bedside for that express purpose. 3 years and counting and I've yet to use it for those 'flashes of genius' we all hope for.

I did get my neighbor slamming a member of the Police Jury here in our parish a while back. I'm been considering supplementing my income lately now that the elections are nigh. ( Not really... )

Now for my complimentary reply:

Inspiring and well-related post Miss Lori. Let's all run with it!

It is great when the light comes on for sure! But it is a little disappointing when it takes months for that sucker to do it!

Tf,
I'm glad you found it inspiring.  I was trying to describe how it finally dawned on me that I have the perfect setting to write all day long! Things have slowed at work and I have been complaining about being bored etc. Duh!  ALL THIS TIME I could have devoted to writing. (not just dabbled)~L
