Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Little voices on tiptoes
bend an ear
to fill it full of murmurings
that refuse to be unheard.
Accusations,
condemnations,
mutters of misgivings,
asides of shame
berate the brain.
Oh, the distractions sought
to drown the din of doubts
that encircle like a crown.
How to appease the little demons
dragging pieces of will to hell.
Little voices whisper behind a façade
of everything is fine.
Rabble rousing emotions too close
to crossing an imperceptible line.

I've bitten so many bullets, It's a wonder I have any teeth at all! Well, maybe not that many, but my own "little voices" have left and now all I hear in the quiet times is birds...lot's of birds.

Introspection is not that nice of a place for me to go. I'd rather make it up along the way.

88's on a good write Miss Lori

Liked this, very be silent and be damned, speak and be damned. Visions of cartoon demons chipping away with there pitchforks at the outwardly calm façade  and a,"No, really I'm fine", through gritted teeth.
Thanks.

Ahhh . . . Taking on "those" voices again, eh, Lori. You took them on in grand fashion and thankfully chose to stop before they  crossed "that" line. Whew!

~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~

Tf,
"Introspection for me is not that nice of a place for me to go. I'd rather make it up as I go."

I'd rather do that too, sigh... ~L
