   leaps of faith
   (what a 'poet'
    must 'believe')

Despite all the sham,
cynicism, and broken
dreams of the past,
I must simply trust
that all cynics become
‘believers,’
when, by the magic
of fate, destiny,
happenstance or
accidental miracles,
they find someone or
something to ‘believe in.’
Such a man and a women
together in new love ...
become fully 'real'
  and limitless.

There is truth and then there is everything else. This poem is the first thing. Well done.

To find someone to trust without cynicism IS truly a leap of faith. Your poem itself makes me stop to ponder what my beliefs are
