For The Love Of Dead Flowers... |

Were your stems not strong enough to hold your gentle petals? Was your earthen residence not a comfort to you? Have you now found peace where a fairy's wings might flutter? Do you still think of me? She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

This is precious! It is as soft and gentle as a butterfly kiss. The whimsy is wonderful. Yet...it is powerful as the scent of lilacs. ~L |

Love this.It is so timely as I have been cleaning out the garden of tired or "retired" flower stalks. They have put up a good life span, but some are tired looking.I have been gathering thousands of seeds from these plants and come spring they will pop up again.I have already scattered a lot of them in different places. Thanks for posting this. JO |

You touch my heart with this one ... I always get melancholic when I witness the withering of flowers. Just today I had such a sad experience ... this morning I went out on my balcony and spotted a rosebud ready to bloom. I confess that I kissed it and thanked it for blooming in November. Hours later I went out again and had a shock vision ... all the rose plants had been pruned by my husband! I was close to tears and searched for the bud, found it and put it in a vase ...He said he had not seen the bud and he was sorry. But oh! This is great work, dear Ticklefingers, and shows your sensitivity. Margherita |

Methinks she gave you breakfast for this. It is beautiful, soft, and reverent. Thank you for sharing a personal moment. |

This makes me think of a sigh that escapes during a private moment- perhaps while doing dishes and gazing out the window or after reading a particular passage, word or phrase. Much can be said in a sigh... smiles, Constance |

Reading this melancholic write of yours again, I suddenly remember the moment someone called me "a withered flower" (it hit me then because I was still young - 30 - compared to now!!!). So I look now at your poem from this different angle ... a love can well be seen as a flower and when it withers and dies it's oh so painful! Margherita |
