Smoke to an Empty Sky All the rainbow leaves have fallen in the restless winds of Autumn passing. This Winter world of relentless sorrows, infinite longings, and fading memories, now lies without color or purpose, for the path to her heart has closed and love has vanished as smoke to an empty sky. --- b. e. adams [11/6/2015] |

Bruce This poem is so forlorn. Makes me think of a lone bare tree in winter shuddering in the wind. ~L |

I was thinking of just such a tree when I wrote it ... you are very perceptive ! like this Zenoid: Winter morning dead tree, live tree who can tell? --- b. e. adams |

There is no beautiful season if a heart is heavy with loss. Beautiful poem. Smiles, Constance |
