Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2015-11-05 10:48 AM

Where has all my gumption gone,
I longingly lament.
It does not seem so long ago,
that a  certain spark
stayed unafraid within me.
An idea on the wind would send
the spark into a flame of action.
My reaction was to do.
So little pondering
could send me wandering
to find things to accomplish.
Now it seems my flint is finis
and my spark has grown dark.
My reaction is no action.
Nothing is my want to do.
I’m slow as molasses,
Every day I sit on my ass is wasted.
I need some desire,
a little bit of fire
down in my belly,
that wants to do more
than sit and watch the telly.
I want to snap out of this
haze of malaise I’m in.
I need zippidy in my do-da,
a stimulant without flaw.
I want gusto and get go.
I want vigor and vim
to get moving again.
A lil’ bit of fire
is all that I desire.

You are in a fine kettle, sha. I relate on these kinds of days, more and more as my days grow shorter.

Dear Lory, I think we all have these moments, maybe it's our body that desires a rest so we can recharge. I love your take on this problem and I do not doubt that you will quickly "snap out of this haze of malaise"! In fact you already did, by writing this gorgeous poem!

Love,
Margherita

"I need some desire,

This is a sad write!

What you may need my dear is a 'Lil bit of Fire water'. Sets those "honkers" of Miss Marti's a'tootin'!

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!
