      Tears of Love
      and Memory

Across this Autumn
  sunset land,
rainbow leaves spread
  a thousand miles.
Dancing wisps of
twilight mist shroud
this lake of dreams as
moonlight shrouds
  the sand.
A fresh scent of
pine rides the chill
evening wind from
the deep-forest heart.
In the penitent silence,
one can almost hear
time and your spirit
   passing
Tears  of love and
memory fall with
the rising moon.

Nights here are dark and very quiet. In those quiet times all that your splendid poetry relates I have come to know to be true.

Up North, high in Wisconsin where I once lived, the pine forests are so aromatic. There are few Pines here on my slice, but many Oak and Maple and of course many Cypress in Bayou Bartholomew a few miles away.

Great piece SHDP!

thank you so much for your most kind comment/reply posts on many of my ever-so-humble lil' "poetic scribbles!"
Hopefully, I help give fine 'voice' to Nature and environmental stewardship in the cascading imagery ... I 'pen' these
ancient 'endless' hills of old Appalachia (my slice of the vanishing wilderness) ...

lovely Ms. M. ... that is one of the primary intentions behind my 'pennings!' ...
as well as hopefully giving fine 'voice' to Nature/environmental stewardship;
tolerance for (even celebration of) human diversity; and 'universalism' (the
infinitely nested 'connectedness' of everyone and everything across all (size)
scales of observation in this grand-scintillating universe!

thank you for your comment/reply post on this 'write!'
