Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Every autumn
before the first frost comes,
we perform the annual ritual
of bringing in the plants
off the porch.
Debrowned and debugged,
they are readied for a place
in our little living room.
Spider plants stretch out
to caress you as you pass by.
The philodendron is incognito
by the silk greens behind it.
The peace lily commands the floor
by the coffee table in the center
of the room.
The maroon mum reflects
in the mirror by the corner.
Only the lone bamboo
remains in its original place
towering above them all.
Successful green thumbery in summer
leads to jungle décor in winter.

As I also have the whole yard covered with plants, trees and flowers plus potted pants, I fully understand this.Jo

What I enjoy the most with your poetry here Miss Lori, is the conversational manner in which it's presented.
